NICOLETTE GENOVESE
I work alongside authors to elevate and refine their writing. My services are tailored to meet your needs—whether that be catching sneaky spelling and grammar errors or more substantive editing to enhance overall style and organization. As an editor, I am an advocate for your work to be its best.
Before turning full-time to editing, my career was centered on humanitarian project management and monitoring, as well as direct refugee resettlement case management. These roles all required extensive documentation to inform a variety of stakeholders, from donors to beneficiaries to policymakers. Because of this, I am passionate about conveying complex information in clear and compelling language.
As a former humanities student, I am well-acquainted with the conventions of academic prose and enthusiastically believe that scholarly writing can be both stylish and intellectually rigorous. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Middle Eastern Studies and Arabic and a master’s degree in Global Affairs. My academic career allowed me to explore many themes, including cross-cultural communication, history, politics, economics, international relations, human rights, anthropology, sociology, urbanism, and environmentalism.
